Taranaki play Auckland on September Ist and Thames on September 10th. ' Kia Toa journey to Mangatainoka on Saturday to play a junior team there. ;The injury to " Paddy " McMinn last Saturday was the result of an extrastrong .- and - altogether - too - affectionate hug from the lock-man.
The Auckland team for the Southern tour has been selected, and a pretty strong combination it is. The Northern Union is taking no risks in the matter of disablements, for twenty players have bsen chosen—nine backs and eleven forwards. The proportion of backs to forwards gives one the impression that a trial will be made of the two fiveeighths game.
Th« final football match for the junior cup between Feilding and Marton teams will tak« place on the grounds of the latter, this afternoon. As both teams are well matched the game should be of a molt interesting character.
