LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

Miss M. Cranston told entertaining anecdotes relating to her experiences of rail travel on her arrival in New Zealand from England 21 years ago, at the September meeting of the Palmcrston North branch of the League of Mothers, at which Mrs J. Barsanti presided. At the conclusion of the talk Mrs A. Mcpherson thanked the speaker. Specially welcomed after an absence were Mesdames H. Drake, Silsen, Whitehead, Milvcrton, and Jcnkinson. Arrangements were made to service the A.N.A. Club on Sontcmber 17, 18 and 19, and tho patriotic shop from September 6 to 11 with the Terrace End branch. Vocal duets were given by Mrs E. Twigge and her grand daughter. Miss N. 'Twigge, vocal solos by Mrs Mclntyre, and pianoforte solos by Fay Fanning. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Justine Whitehead.
