NEARING BENGHAZI
SWIFT DESERT ADVANCE AIRMEN DEFY WEATHER LONDON, Nov. 18. Tn the drive westwards the Eighth Army is reported to bo only 70 milos from tho Axis supply port of Benghazi, after covering 60 miles in the last 24 hours on a broad front. There is no further nows from Derna, but a Cairo report states that tbo British forces on the coastal road have now reached Cyrenc, between Derna and Benghazi.
In spite of poor flying weather yesterday, Allied aircraft shot down six enemy planes and also destroyed six on the ground and damaged one in a sweep on Benina. Tho Allies suffered no losses.
A correspondent says that in tho past three days Allied aircraft have destroyed 130 enemy motor vehicles and damaged many others. Ten enemy planes have also been destroyed on the ground and two more in combat. The Americans-are taking part in tho patrols over enemy areas. Tho Allies lost three planes.
