CHANGE IN WEATHER. After a lengthy period of bright days and frosty nights, the weather in Feilding broke yesterday when rain set in and continued almost incessantly throughout the night. Methodist Mission Work.
A lecture on mission work in the Solomon Islands, Papua and New Britain was given in the Methodist Sunday School Hall last evening by Rev. A. H. Scrivin, who showed films illustrating his remarks. There was a very large attendance. Airs T. M. Henson gavo a brief report on the contributions made to mission work by the Feilding Methodist Church and disclosed that the amount forwarded was the highest of any in the Dominion. Donations Acknowledped.
'Jbo Feilding and District Patriotic Society acknowledges the following donations to the All Purposes Appeal Fund: —Previously acknowledged, £IO,BBI 3s 3d; It.S.A. collection (addit.), £46 6s 6d_; ‘‘Come On, Kiwitea,” £5; Rongotea Patriotic Committee, £10; total, £10,942 9s 9d. The following are further donations to the local fund; Mrs J. Graham, A 1 iss Z. Holms, P. G. Guy and Co., 10s each.
