LATE MR A. E. WRIGHT.

At the Church of Christ on Sunday, special references were made to the late Dir A. E. Wright who for the past 25 years, has been an officer of the church. Dir G. It Stirling presided. Dir H. Grinstead, in paying a tribute to the late Dlr Wright, said he was very pleased when, 25 years ago, Mr Wright called on him and stated ho had secured a position here which would enable him to help with the church work. This meant a good deal to the speaker, who had been associated with Dlr Wright previously at Petone. and then had three churches to minister to. The older members of the church would know how well Mr Wright had done his work. Two speakers who bail helped Dir Grinstead in those days had died within a day of each other, Dlr Wright and Dir G. H. Elliott, A.M., of the Baptist Church. The church could ill afford to lose such men in these days Dlr Grinstead concluded his remarks with a prayer for special comfort for those who had been left to mourn their loss. Dlr Stirling recited a ,poem which was a great favourite with Dlr Wright, after which he delivered a short address on “Keeping a Grip on God.” \
