Afr J. P. Coyle, of Awapuni, his friends will be pleased to learn, is making steady progress after undergoing an operation and expects to leave hospital at the end of the week.
The annual conference of the New Zealand Alliance is being held in Wellington, and Rev. J. Hubbard ami Air H. Grinstead are representing the Palmerston North district. Air Grinstead left for Wellington this morning. The death has occurred in Wanganui. at the age of 82 years, of Air John Alorrikon. who was very well-known in the Wanganui and Rangitikei districts. He took a prominent part in local body affairs for many years. When he resided at Halcombe he was a member of the Oroua County Council, and also served on the Alanawatu-Oroua Power Board. Mr Morrison retired from active farming 21 years ago and sold his farm In the Hangitikei district, near Onepuli i, not far from the place where his father settled close on u hundred years ago.
