OROUA BOWLING CLUB.
The annual report of the president of the Orcua Bowling Club (Mr C. ltausmann) records a successful season, steady progress having been made in improvements to the club’s property and an increase of nine members compared with tho previous . year s membership of 57. Tho membership is the highest since 1932. 'J lie results of mtcrclub and centre games .arc mentioned. These have been reported in the Manawatu Standard.” Tho results of the clubs competitions, completed at the mid of the season, are: Champion singles, K. t . t elford; handicap, W. 11. Alsop; Pearce Cup, P E. Burgess: handicap pairs, R. J- Benefield and F. S. Collier; Turner Saturday competition, lead. J. Campbell; second, J Hart; third ,E. H. Turner; skip, R. I-. Telford. Thanks aro again extended to Mr C B Aitken, tho green supervisor, and Mr A E. Butler, the caretaker, for tho interest they have taken in the club propertv, and all others who havo helped the club. At tho main entrance to the green a new gate has been erected, the old trellis work has been removed and cherry trees have been planted on each side ot the walk.
