The Palmerston North Fire Brigade answered t\vo calls late last night and both were maliciously false alarms. The Empire Hall was well filled last evening when the social patriotic committee of the Palmerston North Hcepital held a dance. Music wa.s supplied by a professional orchestra and extras were played by Mr Ronovitcb Novelty dances provided pleasant interludes. The M.C. was Mr C. Bailey. An appeal front a decision of Mr 11. P. Lawrv, S.M., given in the Magistrate’s Court at l'sinierston North, by which an order for separation and maintenance was made, was heard in the Supremo Court yesterday by the Chief Justice fRt. Hon. Sir Michael Myers). The appellant was Gordon Thomas Alexander McClelland, optician's assistant, of Palmerston North (Mr A. M. Ongley) and the respondent Gtvynnc Nila McClelland, also of Palmerston North (Mr 11. R. Cooper). Lengthy evidence, was heard, after which His Honour vosfuvcd his decision.
