OVERSEAS SERVICE

LAST OF SINGLE MEN. CALL UP ON AUGUST 6. (Press Assn) WELLINGTON, July 15. Tho Minister of National Service (Mr Semple) stated to-day that all those men remaining in Class A of the First Division of the General Reserve, that is men who have attained tho age of 21 years but not the age of 41 years, will bo called up for service overseas with tho Second N.Z.E.F. on August 6. "The preliminary work is at present in hand," said the Minister, "and tho names will be published in a Gazette to be issued at 8.30 a.m. on August 15. Tho medical examination of the men will be proceeded with immediately after that date. It is advisable, therefore, that all the men concerned, while continuing in the meantime their normal employment, should place their private affairs in order as soon as possible so that they may be available for posting to camp at short notice. "As men at present under ago attain the ago of 21 years they will become liable for overseas service and periodically will be called up by the Gazette tor service with the Second N.Z.E.F.

"Following on the calling up of men for overseas service," concluded Mr Semple. "a further ballot will be held to provide men for the Territorial Force. A Gazette containing the names of all men of IS, 19, and 41 to 45 years of age who are at present in the ballot register will bo published on August 19. It is anticipated that the majority of theso Territorials will be required to enter camp early in September or October." MEX FOR TRAINING
