DIVISION REORGANISED

Aftek its most arduous campaigns in Greece and Crete the New Zealand Division ha& been reorganised and is now undergoing' training for future service. Its losses in both theatres of war were heavy, particularly of men who fell into the enemy's hands when it was not possible to evacuate them from the mainland or from Crete. There were many gaps, therefore, to fill in the Division on its return to Egypt, and this has been. accomplished from reserves who have been in training for a considerable period in the Western Desert. Their experiences in Greece and Crete have been of incalculable benefit to the men; they know that, fighting under equal conditions, they are more than a match for the Hun, and having learned much of his methods they can apply the knowledge to their own advantage in the future. Their training influenced by this fact, the men have formed a new Division in which "the spirit of optimism inspires their work." It is not a broken Division that has again taken uj> hard work after its rest, but, as the Official News Service states, a rejuvenated and wiser fighting bodj*, attacking its training in a solid manner, and preparing itself to again meet the Hun. The old Division has passed full of glory for its deeds and enshrined in the Dominion's traditions: the new one takes up the torch to -acquit itself in the same manner as its predecessor.
