MORAL RE-ARMAMENT.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Your correspondent "Civis" takes up a strange attitude when ho takes the Mayor and councillors to task for sending the card out to citizens of this city. To my mind they are to be heartily congratulated upon the stand they have taken. "Civis" objects to the last three clauses. Without these the card would have been of little use. The King has called the nation to prayer because he realises that without God's help we shall fail. iSurely, then, it is right not only on Sunday, but every morning, to spend a quiet time, not only that God may speak to us, but that we as individuals may call upon Him in this hour of our nation's peril.—l am, etc.,
