RUGBY FOOTBALL
UNITED CLUB. There was an attendance of over 50 members at the annual meeting of the United Football Club, Mr J. Eagle presiding. The election of officers resulted : President, Mr, Eagle; vice-presi-dents, 14 wore elected; elub captain, Mr J. Robb; secretary, Mr G. Edmonds; treasurer, Mr N. Sinclair; auditor, Mr 11. A. Simpson; committee, Mc&jrs S. Bcale, W. Carruithcrs, M. Luxmoro, .N. Mabey, N. Pratt, L. and E. Finlay, "11. Ormond, L. Cooksley, U. Field. The report, reviewing laiit year's activities, and the balance-sheet were adopted.
KIA TOA CLUB. In its annual report the Kia Toa Football Club records another successful year although, in common with other clubs, difficulties wero experienced in maintaining top teams. Two teams won championships while another filled the role of runner-up. The club again won the Abraham Cup. The trophies for the season were awarded as follow: Arnott Cup, consistent player and outstanding clubman, C. Elliott; Drysdalc Cup (most consistent players in the respective grades), N. Speedy, K. Heavey, E. Cattorick, 11. Whitcombo, E. Matthews, Whallcy Cup (best all round third), and Wills Trophy (best third grade back), B. Wishnowsky; 'MeKenzio Sports Cup, H. Stenberg. During the summer season the club has lost many more members and will be faced with considerable difficulty in maintaining teams in the coming season. It is with regret that the elub records a loss by the death of Mr T. Mcllerron. The profit and loss account shows a profit, ot £l2 15s Id on tho year's working and tho assets are .£2lO 17s.
