MAKERUA DRAINAGE BOARD.
At a meeting of tlic Makcrua Drainage Board yesterday, Trustee 11. Seifert presided and oilier members present were Trustees 11. Alexander, 11. Sanies, G. Larsen, C. T. W. Clifford, \V. Jackson and J. D, Ailchison. r i’hc eliairman reported that some poplar frees bad been planted too close to Seifert’s Drain and it was decided to request Hie person concerned to have them shifted so that they will bo at least sft from the edge of the drain. ’The overseer is to bn instructed fo repair slight erosion which lias occurred at Page's Point; also to plant willows at the damaged portion of the river bank on Mr 11. M. F, Seymour’s proper),*. A committee consisting of Trustees Seifert, Aitchison and Jackson was appointed to select a tender for the cleaning of the board’s drains. The financial statement showed that rates struck amounted to £12,444 and those paid to date totalled £9271, leaving £3173 outstanding. The overseer (iVIr.P. V. Tucker) reported that protection of Hansen’s Bend was still being carried out.
