MIRAMAR LADIES’ TOURNEY.

The first and second rounds of the Miramar Ladies’ Golf Club’s open championship were held yesterday, when the weather was fine, with a light northerly breeze. As a result of play in the open championship, Mrs Ferguson (Miramar),- Mrs D. Wilson (Hutt), Miss Stevens (Miramar) and Mrs Farmer (Miramar) will contest the semi-finals.

Results of play in the open championship arc as follow : First round.—Mrs Ferguson ' beat Miss Wheeler, 5 and 3; Mrs Harman beat Miss' Taylor, 4 and 3; Mrs Foreman beat Mrs Mackenzie, 6 and 4; Mrs D. Wilson beat Mrs Farr, 5 and -4; Mrs' Lewis beat Mrs Chambers, 8' and 7; Miss Stevens beat Mrs Croswell, 4 and 3; Mrs Rota beat Mrs Wells, at the twenty-fifth; Mrs Fanner beat Mrs Albertson, 4 and 3.

Second round. —Mrs Ferguson beat Mrs Harman, 4 and 3; Mrs Wilson beat Mrs 'Foreman, 4 and 3;-Miss Stevens boat Mrs Lewis, 1 up; Mrs Farmer beat Mrs Rota, 5 and 4.

In the Miramar Handicap. Mrs E. R. Wimsett (Palmerston North) won her matches in both the first and second rounds. In the first round she beat Miss G. Fryer, 4 and 2, and in the second beat Miss O’Sullivan, 2 and 1.
