CENTRAL SCHOOL LADIES.
A happy gathering took place at the Rosco tearooms, yesterday afternoon, when Mrs D. Evans entertained members of the Central School ladies’ committee and helpers who had assisted with the annual ball. Th& tea tables bore vases of red tulips, and every guest' was presented with a charming floral spray made by Mrs Evans.
Mrs Evans, who is the chairman of the committee, thanked the helpers for their co-operation and good work. Mrs W. G. Black, wife of the Chairman of the School Committee, paid a warm tribute to Mrs Evans and the committee on behalf of Mr Black and herself. Mrs Evans and her committee, she said, did wonderful work for the school. They had the welfare of the children at heart and she believed that work for children was always valuable and brought its own rich reward. On behalf of the ladies present Mrs Black also thanked Mrs Evans for the floral sprays. Mrs Evans briefly replied.
