RAPID PROGRESS

EARLY COMPLETION.

WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. Sucli good progress has been made with the ballot for Territorial service now being drawn in Wellington that it is hoped to complete the draw to-morrow.

On the first day, yesterday, 4800 names were drawn from the register for the Auckland, Paeroa and Whangarei districts. To-day the entire quotas for the Hamilton, Wellington, Wanganui, and Napier areas, amounting to 5650 men,, were drawn, and if this rate is maintained there is a possibility that the draw will finish tomorrow' afternoon. There are approximately 5550 more names to be drawn, mostly from the Southern Military District.

MEN LIABLE FOR SERVICE. The age limits of the First Division of the General Reserve from which 16,000 men are being drawn by ballot for Territorial service, are from 19 to 45 years. This division is in three classes. Class A comprises all reservists who have attained the age of 21 years' but have not attained the age of 41 years. Class B consists of all First Division reservists who have not attained the age of 21 years. Glass C consists of all reservists of the First Division who* have attained the age of 41 years.
