BOXING CONTEST.

HUTCHINSON AND RAYNER

The Manawatu Boxing Association, following up their success with the two excellent matches presented this season, have completed negotiations for a match between Johnny Hutchinson, of the United States, and the New’ Zealander, Clarrie Rayner. The bout is scheduled for early October, and will undoubtedly prove very popular.

Mr E. R. Wimsett had also endeavoured to secure a match between Maurice Strickland and the Alabama Kid, but though big prize money was offered the former declared he was “not interested.”
