COLOMBO TEA MARKET.
SHARP ADVANCE IN PRICES.
Per T’rcfis Association. DUNEDIN, Sept, 25. The following cabled report on tbo Colombo tea. auction of September 24 has been received: At yesterdays sale of 1,250 0001 b competition was keen and all grades advanced. Common grades were Id dearer, and medium and good quality were Id and -2d un on last week’s quotations. A total of 1,000.0001 b has been catalogued for sale next week.
Although the weather has been rather! changeab'e in the Waikato, pastures are still growing rapidly, and conditions remain buoyant in all sections of the live stock market. Storo cattle are coming forward in good numbers to meet with a ready sale at rerent quotations. The improved tono which was apparent for dairy rattle recently has been fully sustained. Comparatively small entries of this class are now coming on to th * market, and this, together with the good feed conditions, is no doubt responsible for the maintcnancc of present prices.
