ADDINGTON SALE. SHEEP VALUES RECEDE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 25. A ranch hoavior yarding of fat sheep at Addington to-day brought prices for all classes except hoggets down by 2s a head. The offering generally was of poor quality, except for consignments o£ southern sheep. Best wethers tnado to 56s 4d, and good 40s' to 495; best owes, to 50s; gobd 30s to 445.

The cattle yarding of 411 head was the best selection offered this year, and included several outstanding lines from the West Coast. Considering the high quality of the entry, prices kept up well, and wero little different from last week. Good beef made 503, with best up to 67s 6d, best steers to £24 17s 6d, good £l4 to £22, best heifers, to £2O 7s 6d, good £l2 to £l7. best cows to £l7 2s 6d, good £9 to £l4. There was a larger store- sheep yarding, values in all classes being Is below those of recent salos. A small entry of pork met an excellent sale, the average being 8d to 9jd a lb.

STORTFORD LODGE.

HASTINGS, Sopt. 25. Warmer weather und a larger- yarding caused a drop of 2s a hundred pounds for lighter sorts and 3s to 4s a hundred pounds for heavy oxen in the beef market at the Stortford Lodge sale. Heavy, solidly-finished sorts ranged from £l4 2s 6d to £l6 12s 6d, two pens of extra prime sorts from the Manawatu topping the market at £l7 2s 6d. Female cattle ranged from £7 12s6d to £8 7s 6d for heifers and £8 2s 6d to £1 117 s6d f°r c °w s - Four-year A.A. bullocks mado £9 18s; three-year A, A O steers, £8 10s to £8 17s 6d; small £7 12s; two-year A.A. steers in good order £6 10s to £6 15s; small to medium £5 13s; two-year A.A. heifers £5 17s. small £3 10s to £4 12s 6d; r ,- tening cows £5 10s to £5 16s. Prices Is to 2s cheaper were realised for hoggets. Those in forward order made 265, an outstanding pen making 29s 4d. Medium pens, 23s to 24s lOd; good ewe hoggets, 32s 9d; small and light, 25s 4d; light wethers, 255; good average two and four-tooth wethers, 26s 3d,

WESTFIELD RATES.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 25. Late rates were unchanged for a full average beef entry at the Westfield sale. Cattle.—Extra heavy prime steers, £l6 to £l7 7s fed; heavy, £l4 to £ls 15s; medium, £l2 15s to £l3 10s; extra heavy pnmo cows and heifers, £lO 10s to £l3; heavy, £8 16s to £lO 17s fed; medium, £7 to £B. Runners made from 90s; heavy vealers, 1303 to 1655; medium, 110 s to 1265. Pigs—Choppers, £3 to £4 15s; heavy baconers, £4 7s' to £4 14s;. medium, £4 to £4 4s; heavy porkers, £3 9s to £3 15s; medium, £3 3s to £3 7s. Sheep.—A heavier mutton entry lost ground. Extra heavy prime wethers, woolly, sold for 42s to 42s 6d; shorn, 31s to 335; heavy, 37s to 39s and 29s to 30s; medium, 34s to 36s 6d and 27s to 28s; extra heavy prime owes, 31s to 32s and 23s 6d to 255; heavy, 28s 6d to 30s and 22s 6d to 245; medium, 26s to 27s and 19s to 2ls. Values eased a shade .for a larger lamb entry, prices ranging from 26s to 43s 6d.
