KNITTED GOODS.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 26. Figures taken out by the National Patriotic Fund Board of knitted goods and hussifs distributed from the hoard’s store in 'Wellington lor the Fighting Services give a good idea of the part being played by the women and girls of the Dominion in the patriotic effort. The Army and Navy Departments have had between them a total of 19,710 well-made, fully-stocked hussifs, and there are others still in stock. A total of 19,004 balaclavas have been cleared from the store to all branches of the Fighting Services. Other goods supplied include 6002 scarves, 2193 mittens, 1061 pairs of gloves, 599 pairs of socks, and 97 skull caps.
These ■ articles have been made in various parts of New Zealand and tlie totals do not include other knitted goods provided by the provincial councils for the men in training camps and fortress' Troops. Air Force Relations, which looks after the air personnel, has itself arranged for and provided other knitted goods.
