BOXING TOURNEY.

JOCKEYS AND TRAINERS. HASTINGS, Aug. 24. Entertaining boxing was seen at the tournament conducted in Hastings by the jockeys and trainers of the district in aid of the Mayor’s Patriotic Fund. There was a’i attendance of about 7UO and a further 20(J had to he turned away. The 40 contestants were fit and keen, and with good matching some really good bouts were seen. R. Marsh received a trophy for being the gamest of the tonweight losers, and W. Aitken was awarded a trophy for the most scientific boxer among the . topweights. Among the lightweights R. Coyle was given the award for the gamest loser and T. Winiata that for the -most scientific performer. As a result of the tournament the Mayor’s fund should benefit by about £IOO.
