WEDDINGS.

SWALLOW-CROPP. The wedding was solemnised recently at fc>t. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Wellington Terrace, of Betty Lorraine, only daughter of Mrs It. A. Cropp, of Wallaceville. and Dr. C. K. Swallow, elder son of Airs C. L. Moslem, of Palmerston North. Rev. Brian Kilroy officiated. Tho bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Air C. G. Camp, wore a gown of magnolia embossed satin and carried a sheaf of lilies. She was attended by Airs F. Clark, of Paeroa, who wore a classic gown of Alary blue with a turban to match and carried a bouquet of scarlet anemones. Dr. Gavin Forrest, of Wellington, was best man.

At tho reception the guests were received by the bride’s mother, assisted i bv Airs C. L. Mowlem, mother of the bridegroom. Telegrams were read, including two cablegrams from the bride’s brothers serving with the New Zealand Forces in Egypt. Dr. and 'Mrs Swallow are spending their honeymoon in Queenstown before the bridegroom goes into camp. Among the wedding guests were Air and Airs C. G. Camp, Air Peter Cropp, Air and Airs Leonard Murphy, Air and Mrs J. A. Kelly, Mr Leonard Benge, Air R. AlcCulloch, Alajor and Airs Russell Chisholm, Air L. Grace, Air and Airs H. Anslow, Aliss Dorothy Hawke, Airs AV. Robinson, Aliss Joan AVood, Air and Airs Plank, Air and Mrs P Rosie, Air and Airs E. Harvey, Airs J. Duffy, Mrs J. Walker, Aliss Patricia Kingston (Napier), Air and Airs C. L. Alowlcm, Air Dudley Mowlom, Air and Mrs J. H. North, Air and Airs D. Mitchell, Dr. and Airs J. In. Armour, Mr Frank Hopwood, Mrs Peters, Airs Simmons, Aliss J. Simmons, Aliss Grace Vincent, Mr D. Roche, Dr. A. Erenstrom and Dr. G. Gilbert (all from Palmerston North). REDSHAW —SCHAVABE.

A quiet but pretty wedding took place on August 12 at the residence of the bride’s parents, when Gertrude Clara (Betty), eldest daughter of Air and Mrs AV. Scbwabe, 172 Ferguson Street, Palmerston North, was married to Harry Thomas, second son of Air and Airs H. Redshaw, of Putorino, Hawke’s Bay. Rev. J. Hubbard office ated at tho ceremony. _ The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful frock of white needle-run lace; . the bodice was frilled with rows of stiff lace, and had blue satin bows down the centre. The skirt was very full, with rows of frilled lace to match the bodice. An embroidered veil fell to form a train from a lace skull-cap held in place by a wreath of orange blossoms. The bride was attended by her two sisters, the Misses Joyce and Dorothy Scliwabe, who were similarly attired in frocks of white taffeta, featuring full skirts, the bodices being finished with pink and blue hows, and they carried bouquets of pink and blue hyacinths.

The best man was Sapper Leonard Redshaw, N.Z.R.C., brother of the bridegroom, with Private Cecil Scbwabe, N.Z.AI.C., as groomsman. After the ceremony, Mr and Mrs Scbwabe entertained close friends and relatives at tlieir home.

Wien the bride appeared for travelling she wore a. cavalry blue costume with accessories to match, and a navy blue coat. The young couple were the recipients of-many presents and cheques. Mr and Mrs Redshaw are making their home in Palmerston North.
