VIOLENT EXPLOSION

IN GLASGOW 7 STEEL WORKS. SHOWER OF RED HOT ORE. (Independent Cable Service.) Received July 18, 9.15 a.m. LONDON, July 17. A violent explosion to-day wrecked the pumphouse at Messrs. William Board and Company’s steelworks, near Glasgow, and set fire to a shop adjoining. Workers on the night shift were showered with lumps of red hot ore and other debris.

Some sheltered in an air raid refuge. The windows in every building in the neighbourhood were shattered. There were many miraoulous escapes.
