BRITISH MILITARY HEAD. TALKS IN POLAND. CONTINUATION OF CONTACT (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received July 18, 12.25 p.m. LONDON. July 17. The Warsaw correspondent of the Times says that General Sir Edmund Ironside’s visit is described as a continuation of the. contact between the British and Polish General Staffs. In addition to military talks with the Polish High Command, General Ironside, who is one of the two British Inspectors of Oversea Forces, will inspect the centres of military activity and attend military exercises at Rembertow and Modlin.
The newspapers welcome his visit as tangible evidence of the identity of British and Polish purpose. In the meantime, a Danzig message says that Herr Foerster (Nazi leader in Danzig) has returned to Danzig. It is understood he has indicated that lie found Heir Hitler optimistic regarding the view that the Danzig problem could be settled by negotiation between Germany and Poland provided there was no outside interference.
