RANGITIKEI RACING CLUB.

COMMITTEE MEETING. (From Our Own Ccrrespondenl.) BULLS, July 17. A meeting of the general committee of the ltangitikei Bating Club was held on Friday, Mr Bex D. MeKelvie presiding. Mr Bobin Ilood, of Palmerston North, architect for the alterations and additions, to tlie building, also attended, and an inspection was made, Mr Ilood being congratulated on the up-to-date stand which he had planned, and a tribute being paid to the good work of the contractor, and sub-contractors. Before commencing the general business the chairman referred to the death of Mr J. If. i’erreft, and moved that a record ho made in the minutes of the club of Mr Perrctt’s valuable and faithful services over a period of forty years in various capacities, and for over 10 years on the New Zealand Racing Conference. A motion of sympathy with Mrs J Perrctt and family was passed in silence. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr J. B. L. .Stanford*, delegate to the New Zealand Racing Conference, for his very comprehensive report of the proceedings. Mr A. W. Ainon was appointed to the vacancy of vice-president brought about by the death of Mr Perrott; Mr Anion will till the position until the end of the present racing season, when lie will come up for re-election. The chairman, on lie-half of tho stewards, wished Mr Q. 0. Wilson and liis future wife every happiness, and handed to Mr Wilson a handsome engraved piece of plate as a token of their esteem.
