AUSTRALIAN MUR DEMURS. SYDNEY, Juno 9. The dentil sentences passed on three persons for murder were commuted to imprisonment for life by the Executive Council to-day. Eabism Fogarty, Harold Percy Smith, aged .”>3, and Matilda Ann Edwards’ aged 31, arc those affected. Smith’ and Edwards were convicted of the murder of Edwards’s husband near Taree on December 21. The ease of John Trevor Kelly was held over for further inquiry.
