ATHLETIC MEETING.

TOKIO, June 8. It is announced that a Pan-Pacific international athletic meeting will be held in Tokio in the autumn of 1940, after the Helsingfors Olympic Games, under the auspices of Japan. The Amateur Athletic Federation is inviting New Zealand, Austialia-, America, Canada, Mexico.. South American countries, the Philippines. Siam. Indochina. Alanchukuo, and the new China regimes. The meeting will commemorate the 2000th anniversary of the founding of the Japanese Empire and will comprise all the Olympic contests besides a trans-Paeific yacht race. Japanese vessels will grant a discount to visitors on their fares of 50 per cent.
