CHURCH SERVICE
SHARE OF RESPONSIBILITY. BISHOP’S SHI!MON. (United Press Association —-By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received .June 12, L p.m. HYDE PARK, dune 11. Tlieir Majesties ami President and Mrs Roosevelt heard a sermon, urging that their nations ‘‘must assume a large share of the -responsibility for Miving the world from the ills threatening its well-being,” in the tiny weather-beaten St. .James Anglican < lunch which was crowded with parishioners anxious to see Their Majesties, so crowded, in fact, that several hundred were forced to stand on the lawn. The Royal party hoard Rt. Rev. Henry Tucker, the presiding Bishop, declare: “We arc beginning to realise that nations, no less than individuals, arc dependent one on another so that tlie welfare of one is conditional upon that of all.” The political implications of the Bishop's statement on the last day of Their Majesties’ visit to the United States served as a climax of their tour which has been described in some quarters as a friendly response to a friend]v invitation, and in others as a gesture toward closer diplomatic relations between Britain and America. The Bishop took as his text verse 13 of chapter JY of Ephesians, “Till we. all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Eon of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” and said. “At the time of a great crisis Pitt the Elder was reported to have said, ‘1 know T can save England and no one else can.’ As a result of wliat lie accomplished the nations represented here occupy a position of move than ordinary influence in world affairs.”
