VOLCANIC ORIGIN LIKELY. CAUSE OF WRECK. SWEDISH STEAMER. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received June 12, 10.50 a.m. BRISBANE, June 12. . An uncharted island 500 ft. long and loft, above high-tide level caused the wreck of the Swedish steamer Fotini Carra>, according to a wireless message from the Danish rescue ship Australien, which is now carrying the crew of the Fotini Carras to Rabaul. The message adds that the island is believed to lie the result of submarine volcanic action. High seas are now pounding the wrecked vessel to pieces.
