CHEESE QUALITY.

G REAT IAJ PR OVF. A 1 ENT. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S COMMENT “Good as it was before, T do think that New Zealand cheese lias greatly improved in quality in the last twelve years,” staled Sir Harry liatterbee. High Commissioner in New Zealand for the United Kingdom, when speaking at the civic luncheon accorded him in the Rosc'o tea-rooms yesterday.

Sir Harry added that it was only those countries which maintained and improved the quality of their produce that could keep their existing markets and develop new ones. It was most important to maintain quality. "I have been very glad to notice that the price of butter, low level reached, has been rising.” added the visitor, “and I hope that will continue. I think there is reason to think it will continue.” Subsequently the Mayor (Mr A. K. Mansfnrd) commented that he thought a great deal of the improvement in the" quality of New Zealand’s cheese could be attributed to the good advice given hv the former Governor-Gen-eral, Lord Blcdisloc.
