WEST INDIAN'S Spectacular Debut in England.—J. D. Stollmeyer driving A. P. Freeman, when the West Indies XI opened its tour with a oneday match at Gravesend on May 3 against a side captained by L. E. G. Ames, England's Test wicketkeeper. Due chiefly to a fine knock of 87 by Stollmeyer, the visitors (225 for three) drew with the Englishmen, who had made 278 (Amos 116, Woolley 59).
