Received June 8, 10.35 a.m. DAMASCUS, June 7. Almost starved and bearing- the marks of savage beatings, Private Boylan, an Irish soldier of the Worcestershire Regiment, was brought in to Damascus to-day after escaping from the Arabs who kidnapped him at Nablus on May 25 and took him across the Syrian frontier. The Arabs tortured and beat. Private Boylan to make him disclose military information. He obdurately refused and ultimately escaped.
