RESTRICTION OF IMPORTS <j> SUPREME COURT RULING Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 22. “In the result the import control restrictions, 1938, are, in my opinion, not valid,” states Mr Justice Callan in his judgment delivered at great length in the Supreme Court to-day on the claim made by Jackson and Co., importers, and against the Collector of Customs and demanding the delivery of certain goods valued at £l4, imported from Sydney and held under the Import Regulations pending the isue to plaintiffs of an import license. Plaintiffs claimed that the Import Regulations were invalid and the regulations were defended by the Solicitor-General. His Honour gave judgment for plaintiffs with £125 costs against the Collector of Customs.
