The Alay meeting of the AVaiiata Women's Institute, which was held at the home of Airs K. Vautier, proved a most enjoyable afternoon. In tbo absence of the president (Airs Simpson), the vice-president (Mrs Alulholland) presided. Aliss K. Vautier, of AVhakarongo, gave a very interesting dernonstm.tion on sweet-making and the art of ba.rbola work. The thought for tbo month was provided by Airs Redsbaw, who read lan Drag’s poem “Homemade Sunshine.'’ School-day memories proved a humorous roll call. A gift was presented to Airs Alulholland in appreciation of her work as secretary for the past two years. Aliss K. Vautier entertained the members with an elocutionary item which was much appreciated. Competition results were: B'oom, Aliss J. Redsbaw 1. Aliss J). Bridgeman 2, Airs Billett 3: decorated saucer.
