(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, Feb. 30. 3 The annual picnic of the Ashhurst School ' was held on Friday, when the parents and li children gathered at the Domain. The woal tier was sunny throughout the day, but I late in the afternoon a cold wind was blow- [ ing. There were plenty of amusements for r the children. Races were run and after the ’ tea had been provided -good prizes and j I toys were presented by Mr R. D. Davis, . secretary oi the School Committee. Mr ’i Davis thanked all the willing helpers who ’ had assisted in any way with the work or 1 donated towards the picnic fund. Hewitt, of Ashhurst. will bo pleased to learn she has passed her senior examination for singing with merit at the Taihapc Covvent, where the examination was held last November. I
