CROQUET.
WELLINGTON TOURNEY. WELLINGTON, Feb. 21. Boisterous conditions prevailed again yesterday for the Wellington croquet championships, which are now in the concluding stages at Riddiford Park, Lower Ilutt. The second section of the handicap singles was won by Mrs G. Collins, who beat Mrs Gilbert in the final, and the post entry handicap doubles was won by Mesdames Cleland and May, who beat Mesdames Dwyer and Corlett in the final. The open championship and the club pairs event will be concluded to-morrow. Following are the results of yesterday’s play:— HANDICAP SINGLES. No. 2 Section.—Final: Mrs G. Collins beat Mrs Gilbert, 26—17. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. Mrs Small beat Mrs Moeller, 26—6, 21—26, 26—22. POST ENTRY. Finals.—Mesdames Burd and Neil6on beat Mesdames Caldow and Holland 26—19; Mesdames Cleland and May’ beat Mesdames Dwyer and Corlett, 26—7. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. Mrs Ridley beat Mrs Bryan, 26—3, 14—26, 26—20.
