MILITARY TRAINING.

BIG CAMP AT WAIOURU

Per Press Association. TAIHAPE, Feb. 20.

One of the largest military camps since the War is now in progress at Waiouru, where 700 men are under canvas. The units represented are the 3rd Auckland Field Battery, Bth field Battery reinforcements, and 17tli Medium Battery, Wellington (strength about 150 officers and men), 2nd. Company Field Engineers, Wellington (strength, 00 officers and men), and also the 2nd Composite Infantry Battalion, including units from Taranaki, Wanganui, Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay. The camp is under the command ol Major R. S. Park, R.N.Z.A., chief instructor in gunnery. The adjutant is Lieut. L. N. McKay, R.N.Z.A. Other officers in camp are Captain C. E. Weir. R.N.Z.A., instructor in gunnery, and Captain R. C. Queree. R.N.Z.A., adjutant of the Ist Field Brigade. Major-General J. E. Duigan, C. 8., D. 5.0., Chief of General Staff, accompanied bv Colonel E. Puttiek, D. 5.0.. commanding the Central District, will inspect the camp on Thursday and Friday of this week, when live shell practice will be held.
