General Smuts has introduced in the Assembly the Companies Act, which aims to prevent abuses of company administration and the exploitation of the public. Share-hawking is strictly prohibited. Fines will l>e imposed for false statements in any prospectus. Accounts must disclose loans and the remuneration paid to directors, who must disclose changes in their names or nationality.
