IMPORTANT DECISIONS. APPOINTMENTS CONFIRAIED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 17. Three important appointments were made at the annual conference of the Atethodist Church of New Zealand today. The offices filled were those of su]>erintendent of the home mission department, three youth directors, and tutor at the theological college. To fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Rev. A. J. Seamer, Rev. G. I. Laurenson was appointed general superintendent of home missions, and Rev. H. J. Odell was appointed assistant-superintendent, an office previously held bv Air Laurenson. Rev. E. P. Blamires, who will relinquish the post of young people’s director after 1.7 years’ service, was relieved of circuit work for a year to enablo him to visit tho United States and England. The following three new directors were appointed by tho conference: Hev. C. T. Symons. South Australia, Air A. E. Bate, and Rev. M. A. AleDowelL ’Plio appointments ore for six years from next April. Rev. E. W. Hames, M.A.. was appointed resident tutor at Trinity Theological College, Auckland, to take the place of Air W. T. Blight, who has resigned after eight years’ service at the college. , _ . Eight candidates were accepted for the ministry of the Alethodist Church of New Zealand. Six of these will enter the Trinity Alethodist Theological College in Auckland for training and two will be admitted as probationer ministers. The candidates to enter the college are Messrs J. J. Lewis, AY • J. Alorrison (Auckland), R. 1. Clement (South Auckland), C. H. Skuse, L Y T Willing (Wellington) and A. 1' • Collins (Otago-Southland). The probationers are Revs. H. A. Cochrane (Auckland) and R. Grice (Hawke s Bay-Alanawatu). In addition to the two new candidates, the following were accepted as probationers from the college: Revm L. A. D. Havman, C. P- Lucas, C. B. Oldfield, J. S. Waite and J. K. Matson. . Alinisters accepted for ordination by the conference were Revs. 0. E. Burton, C. L. Duder, .T. L. G. Hanna, C. T. j. Luxton, W. A. Alills, R- Lhornlev and A. R. Witlieford. Except Air Thornley, who is in England and whose ordination will take place there, they will he ordained at a service on Alondav evening. , , The following lav representatives were appointed to tho stationing committee: Alessrs S.
