OFFICIAL REPORT.

BROKERS’ SUMMARY. The following official report of tho sale was issued by the Wellington Wool Brokers’ Association: At the third Wellington wool sale catalogues comprising approximately 24,300 bales were submitted to a full and representative bench of buyers. Competition throughout the sale was exceptionally keen. Bradford and the Continent were operating freely, and it is also thought that a (quantity was bought for Japan. America was operating sparingly. Prices can be quoted practically on a par with those of tho January sale. The offering comprised mostly topmaking wools of average types, with very few outstanding clips. As was the case with the January offenng, many of the clips offered showed signs of the effects of the weather and were discoloured. Many clips were carrying dust. The bulk of tho wool consisted of crossbreds drawn from tho Manawatu and the Wairarapa districts, with the usual quota of halfbreds from Marlborough and Kelson. Prices for bellies and pieces were fullv firm on tlioso ruling at the Wellington sale on January 9, good crutehings were slightly easier, while inferior and seedy sorts showed a slight appreciation. There was a good demand for lambs’ wool and here again the better types were fully firm on January. , Growers still show readiness to meet the market and clearances of 9b per cent were effected under the hammer.
