A White Paper containing what is known as the McMahon-Hussein correspondence—an exchange of letters between Sir Henry McMahoi) and Sheriff Hussein of Mecca in 1915—is as good as prepared and will be issued as soon as possible. . Meanwhile, for the convenience or business, copies of the letters are being placed at the disposal of the delegates to the Palestine conference. Announcing this in the House of Commons, Mr Chamberlain explained that a request for publication had been made bv the Arab delegations, and it had been thought desirable to accede to the request. In stating the Jewish case, Tfr Weizinann pleaded for the homeless position of the Jews, and informed tlie Palestine conference that the Arabs and Jews could meet beneficially only on the basis of a fully performed mandate, also Jewish immigration to saturation point, active development of the land, and the safeguarding of the minority status. Dr. Weizmann regretted that the conference bad opened before the restoration of law and order in Palestine.
