(From Our Own Correspondent.) COLYTON, Nov. 4.
Following a somewhat threatening morning, the weather cleared sufficiently to enable the Aratika Tennis Club to hold its opening day. There were quite a number present from neighbouring clubs, and an enjoyable day was spent, ihe president (Mr C. H. Wilson) officially opened the season, and afterwards presented the trophies to the winners and runner-up. Following ar ethe details of the play • First round, Miss E. Wilcock and J. Watson and G. Hills lost to Miss J. Sinclair anil G. Burr, Miss Adams and E. Sinclair beat Miss M. Sinclair and D. Sinclair, Miss D. Adsett and J. Ford beat Miss M. Maddison and Connelley, Miss G. Bridgeman and A. Humphrey beat Miss L. Hansen and L. Ewen, Mrs Slight and J. Humphrey beat Miss 11. Hansen and L. Gibson. Second round, Miss 11. llocken and D." Sinclair beat Miss C. Palmer and U.
