FURTHER RISE. IN NOTE ISSUE. STERLING EXCHANGE LOWER, The weekly statement of assets and liabilities of tho Reserve Batik of New Zealand ae at the closo of business on Monday, August 30, is as follows:

Proportion of reserve (No. 7 less Ho. 5) to notes and other demand liabilities, 78.836 per cent,, as compared with 78.297 per cent, on August 23. Tho noto issue shows a further increase of £14,114 and now amounts to £12,793,755. Demand liabilities to the 'State iotal £6,273,483, an increase of £67,350. Tho trading banks’ roserve bnlanccs shoiv a decrease of £457,052, tho total now being £9,905,193. Other demand liabilities amount to £654,765, an increase of £73,564. Other liabilities total £93,147, a decrease of £587. Sterling exchange totals £20,555,164, a decrease of £76,737. Gold remains unchanged at £2,801,791. Subsidiary coin amounts to £101,153, a decrease of £4190. Advances to the Stato dairy industry amount to £4,487,301, a decrease of £217,114. Advances to tho Stato for other purposes remain unchanged at £300,000. Investments show no r change at £2,906,450. Other assets amount to £68,485, a decrease of £4569. , The statement balances at £31,220,344, a decrease of £302,610.
