ARRESTED ON NIAGARA.

MAN ADMITS THEFT. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 2. Thefts totalling nearly £3OO from the Christchurch branch of the Government Life Insurance Office were admitted by Russell Frederick Organ, in the Magistrate’s Court. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The evidence showed that demands for money from an unrevealed source had been made on Organ during June and lie had taken money to meet them. When he found he could not repay the money he had flown from Christchurch to Auckland and attempted to get to Australia by the Niagara. He was arrested on the ship and brought back to Christchurch.
