LATE SIR A. CHAMBERLAIN’S SEAT. Received April 30, 1.30 p.m. LONDON, April 29. The West Birmingham by-election, caused by the death of Sir Austen Chamberlain, resulted; — Higgs (Conservative) 12,552 Crossman (Labour) 9,632 Majority for Higgs 2,920 At the last general election (he voting was: Rt. Hon. Sir A. Chamberlain (C\), 16,530; O. G. Willey (Lab.), 9159. A LABOUR GAIN. Received April 30, 1.30 p.m. LONDON, April 30. At the Wandsworth by-election, owing to Sir Henry Jackson’s death, the voting resulted:— Major H. L. Nathan (Labour) . 12,406 Roland Jennings (Conservative) 11,920 Majority lor Nathan 486 A Labour gain. At the last general election the voting was: Sir Henry Jackson (O.), 14,728; F. W. Davies (Lab.), 10,495.
