An anti-cyclone still covers the north Tasman Sea and the North Island, but has been losing intensity, while a shallow depression extends -from the South Tasman on to the South Island. Forecast: Light to moderate northwesterly winds, freshening at times. Weather: Fair and warmer, but cloud and haze increasing. Seas moderate. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE Noon.—2ft 3in.
