INTER-SCHOOL MATCHES.
RUGBY FOOTBALL. At the Feilding Agricultural High' School grounds on Thursday two Rugby football matches were played against teams from the Dannevirke District High School. In the senior game the visitors won by 23 points to 6 and in the junior by 22 points to 3. At half-time the local seniors had not opened their account, while the visitors had scored 11 points, due to the efforts of. Naera, Carr, Dewe, and Lino. The visitors had scored 14 points before Thurston intercepted a pass and scampered across to score for the home side. The going was hard for the local lads, and the Dannevirke seniors were difficult to hold back. Again the defence was broken and the visitors got another two tries which were not converted. Over-excited by their success the visitors infringed and a penalty kick was awarded against them. Mason made no mistake with the kick, sending the ball cleanly over. With the score 20— 6 in the visitors’ favour and only a few minutes to go, the Dannevirke team again pressed and scored to bring tho final points up to 23—6. Mr Whitehead controlled the game.
