(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Juno'l2. Mrs C. Cooksley is at present a patient in the Wellington Hospital. Mr and Mrs Hodge, who have been residents of the Te Iloro district for some time, were entertained on Wednesday evening at the Hautere Hall and presented with a. tea and coffee service. Mr and Mrs Hodge 'utend to take up their residence at Tauranga. Freesias, the first of the season, were in evidence at a social at Otaki last even ing. One of the heaviest frosls yet experienced in Otaki was registered tliis morning, there being eight degrees. Several water taps were frozen. There is a mantle of snow on some of the lower ranges. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at All Saints’ Church, Otaki, last Saturday evening, when Dorothy, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. A. Johnston? of Wanganui, was married to Henry Leo, third son of Mrs E. A. Clay and the lato Mr 11. W. Clay, Te Iloro. Rev. G. Watson officiated and Mrs Wills presided at the organ. There Was a large gathering at the Anglican Parish Hall last night to sav farewell to Mr,' Mrs and Miss Jean Bailey, who leave Otaki cn Monday to take up their reisdence at Scorching Bay, Wollngton, Mr, Mrs and Miss Bailey have resided in Otaki for some years, have proved very popular with all classes, and have beon most willing workers at all functions held locally. Sengs were rendered by Mrs W. C. Fiebig and Miss Avery, while Mr G. Paulsen gave organ selections. Dancing was also indulged in under the guldmce of Mr F. Rule, while Miss Utiku presided attthc piano.
