DAIRY PRODUCE

OPTIMISM AT HOME. DEMAND STRENGTHENED. LITTLE CHANGE IN STOCKS,

(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received June 15, 10.55 a.m. LONDON, June 14.

Commodities continue apathetic, but a notable exception is butter, which has sharply appreciated owing to speculative and general buying on 'the Continent having failed to augment the seasonal decreases on Empire arrivals. The low retail prices are due to intense competition. This has strengthened the demand, creating an extra strain on supplies. Prices developed an irregularity towards the week-end owing do profittaking, but optimism is the keynote of the trade, especially as the cold store stocks are believed to have little altered in the last fortnight, although normally thej' tend to increase at this time of ttie year.
