WHIROKINO HIGHWAY.
PRELIMINARY WORK. (From Our Own Correspondent,) FOXTON, March 19. This morning two local carpenters and two labourers started on the preliminary work in connection with the construction of the new highway across the Whirokino. The carpenters are engaged in the construction of a hut and the other two men ill digging test holes. Gear for the construction work is expected to arrive at an early date.
